All of this works perfectly, including the edit mode for the 3rd gridview. Quick google search guided me to move the event to Row_Created event and every thing is okay . Thanks a tonne in Advance and any inputs will be valued and appreciated . I do notice that if I break within the Grid View1_Row Data Bound event during a refresh of the page, the values are there.
First gridview displays data, 2nd one displays data based on the 1st one's row and 3rd one displays data based on the 2nd gridview. I have a relatively simple gridview bound to an product table that displays great. When I do so, the gridviews' Row Data Bound event fires and the values of the text properties of the tablecells in the row evaluate to "" emptystring.
The Grid View does know the events that should be used to implement them, so the exceptions shown above are thrown when you try to perform one of these operations, but you have implemented the appropriate event handler.
The example shown here is for a Grid View, but the same types of event handlers must be implemented in roughly the same way for other data controls including the Form View, Details View, and List View. This is the final Grid View markup, so you can see the event handlers we’re going to implement.
I'm writing a custom control that will automatically wrap controls in an Update Panel dynamically at run-time. The Grid View control resides in a User Control which is referenced in an page that is housed inside a Master Page. How can I get this to fire during the rowupdating event? Hi, I create a Gridview dynamically binding a Datatable as a datasource.
When I take a standard Grid View, bind it to a Data Table and dynamically wrap it in an Update Panel at run-time, the Row Updating event stops firing my handler. the View state is disabled because I need the the Grid View to be displayed even when there is no data. Thanks in advance, Amanda Try something like Response. I create event handlers for the Row Editing, Row Updating and Row Cancelling Edit events.
On the nested child gridview, when I click the edit button, the line goes into edit mode, but the parent row collapses.
It is located in the Row Data Bound event of the parent gridview.
Based on the code samples I have, the way the process should work when the edit button is clicked is the Row Command and then the Row Editing events for the child gridview are supposed to fire, followed by the Row Data Bound for the parent.
