Just curious why those popular AOL chat rooms disappeared?
I can remember spending HOURS in those chat rooms in the late 90's.
Truth be told, I was a mid-20's single male around that time and it was a great way to meet women. AOL had search filters where you could type in a ZIP code and it would show all the females currently online near you.
I think in 2014, the only chat service still around is Facebook but I never hear much about it. evolution once folks got tired of AOL they moved on to the FREE Yahoo!
voice chat that lasted for a little bit then you had the message boards/ forums from Ultimate Bulletin Board and EZboard (i think they were some of the first) etc etc for years then of course the myspace people used myspace liked they used aol back in the day to setup "dates"I believe people still chat some on IRC or even certain websites.
So today I received another e-mail saying that they thought I would be a perfect fit for a job and I thought back to my research.
No contact information whatsoever, just the instant messenger address.
If you thought there was no such thing as a stupid question, keep reading.
